Years ago, we decided that we would take responsibility for the entire life cycle of the forest and therefore we added forest renewal to our company’s range of services. The cultivation process includes ground preparation and sowing, or domestic seedlings with planting service. Both types of reforestations are followed by the maintenance of young trees.
Our forest renewal specialist can help with all of your questions: How many trees should be planted after felling? Which tree species should you choose for renewal? After the consultation, we prepare an individual plan for each property, which includes the planned works. We will also provide information concerning the subsequent maintenance scheme and Forest Association Grants.
In 2017, we decided to create our own forest nursery to simplify the reforestation process. In this way, we always provided ourselves with domestic seedlings for the reforestation of Estonia. Today we grow both potted and open-root spruce, birch, pine, and common alder seedlings.
Through Eesti Taimekasvatus, more than 4 million trees have reached our home forests.
We collaborate with the whole team to ensure that the creation of a new generation of forests is not overlooked during the logging work. We believe that a major factor on this path is the established basic knowledge and knowledge of best practices in the field of forestry of private forest owners.
In addition to ecological reasons, the idea and the main economic benefit of reforestation is the cultivation of productive and high-quality forests. With reforestation, you fulfill the obligation of reforestation under the Forest Act and get a new growing nursery. By changing the species composition of stands, you can promote greater wood productivity.
Eesti Metsameister takes care of the entire forest lifecycle. With us, forestry is more than just cutting trees.
