Juho Mattus – a young athlete

Since 2018, Eesti Metsameister has been supporting the downhill rider Juho Mattus. Juho, born in 1991, has shown excellent results despite his early age and the ability not only to set goals, but also to strive.

In 2019 Juho participated in the first World Cup in Maribor, Slovenia. In season 2020, the young man, despite the devastating impact of the virus, reached seven races out of 12 planned. We’ll give our thumbs up for the new season.

The 2019 conference of the International Forestry Student’ Association (IFSA) and the Estonian Society of Forestry Students (EMEÜS)

We also supported the multi-week conference “International Forestry Students’ Symposium” (IFSS) 2019 in Estonia. The aim of the series of seminars held 47 times is to exchange ideas and best practices.

The main theme of the event “From seed to final product” was especially close to our hearts. The Estonian University of Life Sciences organized a variety of events, city tours, cultural presentations, and workshops during the 2-week program. Estonian forestry was in focus in the presentations – we visited for example RMK trails, Lahemaa National Park, Sagadi Forest Museum, Mining Museum, Raitwood factory, etc.

Charity auctions

Eesti Metsameister has organized it’s corporate Christmas parties with charity. The proceeds from a meaningful souvenirs purchased at auctions are donated to a different charitable purpose each year.

For example, during a charity auction at our grand end-of-the-year gala, we raised enough money to buy several new televisions for the Children’s Hospital of University of Tartu, which were handed over by the founders of the company Mart-Sander Mõts and Taavi Lellep.

Business ideas competition of EEC students “Tärkav Idu”

In 2019, we were a sponsor of the business idea competition “Tärkav Idu” to encourage talented students to look for connections between science, technology, and entrepreneurship.

The three winning teams will receive financial support and the opportunity to further develop their ideas with instructors and mentors or submit them to the “Kaleidoskoop” competition.

Helping hand to the Children’s Foundation and families of children with rare diseases

In 2015 and 2016, the team of Eesti Metsameister OÜ joined hands for the Rare Diseases Awareness Month organized by Tartu Ülikooli Lastekliinikum. The entire team of the Tartu office spent two weekends in Tartu Kaubamaja and Lõunakeskus, where, under the leadership of the Children’s Foundation, we informed people about rare diseases and collected donations.

In small countries like Estonia, families of children with rare diseases are in a particularly demanding situation.

Big supporter of Naerata Ometi MTÜ

MTÜ Naerata Ometi assists families and children with special needs. They help families and children who are not adequately supported by the state and who have been dealt a particularly difficult deck of cards in life.

Communal planting events

Planting charity works were performed in communities to help implement environmental projects and raise societal awareness.

The 2017 project was aimed to support Tartu municipality. Planting activities took place on September 30th, where volunteers gathered in Lähte and planted 2,500 spruce seedlings alongside the new ski trail. The participants got necessary tools, short lectures were held, and the children were amused by Tartu Toy Museum.

In 2018, the project was organized for Nõo parish. The event took place on May 13, Mother’s Day, in the village of Laguja. The former waste collection area, which had been closed since the year 2000, was reforested. Besides planting, information points were open which shared knowledge about sustainable forest management, and Tartu Toy Museum was again a leader in organizing children’s activities. In total, 10,000 spruce and pine seedlings were planted.

Handball Club Põlva Serviti

Eesti Metsameister is proud to sponsor the 16-time Estonian champion and 14-time cup winner handball club Põlva Serviti.

We are well connected to the successful handball club – you cannot count on one hand how many people in our team come from Põlvamaa, we even have the club’s former representative player Andreas Rikken working in our team, so supporting Põlva Serviti is a elemental thing to do. The connection is also through forest management – Põlvamaa is one of the main regions where our forest management and reforestation projects have always taken place over the years. Taking these things into consideration, it was completely logical for us to help the local flagship, Põlva Serviti, achieve the highest goals in sports!

Ervin Toots

We support Ervin Toots, who is the top representative in Estonian Strongman Field. A man goes from competition to competition to represent our country. He demonstrates impeccable discipline, reliable results, and the heart, that shines in the right place: he actively contributes to charity.

We hope that our contribution is what will lead Ervin to his goal: to be the strongest man in the world!

Footballer Andreas Vaher

Andreas Vaher received our support in 2021, because he showed real international potential.

Today, the 19-year-old football talent is playing in Germany, SC Freiburg U23, and he also joined the A-teams.

Young basketball stars Tormi Joonatan Metsla and Erik Makke

Among the national team players, young basketball players Tormi Joonatan Metsla and Erik Makke caught our eye. Thanks to the support, the talents started their careers in the ranks of Italian basketball clubs: Tormi (18 years old) belongs to the Italian Pistoa Basket 2000 team and Erik – to the ranks of the Italian Novipiu Campus Piemonte club.

Lihtsa │ Lina sidecar team of Estonia

We supported the Estonian national sidecar team at the international motocross in Cingoli, far away in Italy!

It is one of the biggest sidecar motocross competitions in the world, and it was the first time for Estonians to participate in this exciting sport. The men’s ambitious goal of securing a place in the top five with the home basketball team was achieved in good constructive interaction!

FC Tartu football club

Since 2015, we have considered the FC Tartu team part of our work family. With common advice and strength, we move towards certain victories and the Premier League.

Tauno Trink, representative of FC Tartu: “Eesti Metsameister, led by its managers, has become an irreplaceable support, without whom I could not imagine my activities anymore. The support of the main sponsor is especially important as youth football in our club has reached the stage when the youths who have trained together since the beginning of the club are ready to wear the jersey of the representative team with the support of individual more experienced players. It is a special pleasure that we have been able to involve the leaders of Eesti Metsameister in the club’s activities on several fronts, which is why I see cooperation for many years to come instead of a single sponsorship.” 

Mart-Sander Mõts, one of the owners of Eesti Metsmeister, who has been involved in football to a greater or lesser extent all his life, adds: “Otherwise, I keep my fingers crossed for Manchester United. Of course, I also support football in my home country, especially in my hometown: Tammeka and FC Tartu. A functioning youth system and the subsequent growth of football players give FC Tartu good conditions to rise to the top league in the 10-year perspective. It is only a pleasure to support this goal.”

From 2018, FC Tartu joined the club FC Helios, who we have continued to support.

A boost for badminton player Mati Soo

We have also been honored to support badminton player Mati Soo in the 2019 and 2020 seasons.

In addition to working as a coach in the preparation group of Nõo’s Badminton Club, Mati Soo was able to snatch a silver medal in singles and a doubles title at the Estonian senior championships in the 35+ age category!
